Facility & Security

Our building is designed from the ground up with child safety in mind — from who can enter to how every space is monitored.

Secure Entry & Access Control

Our facility uses a keypad-secured entry system. Only authorized adults on a child's approved pickup list may enter or collect children.

All visitors must sign in, present ID, and be escorted at all times.

Supervised at All Times

Children are never left unsupervised. Our staff-to-child ratios exceed state minimums to ensure constant, attentive care in every room and outdoor space.

Background-Checked Staff

Every team member — including substitutes and volunteers — undergoes a comprehensive state and federal background check before their first day.

Checks are renewed annually.

Emergency Preparedness

We conduct monthly fire drills and quarterly lockdown drills. Emergency evacuation plans are posted in every room and reviewed with all staff regularly.

Parents are notified immediately of any emergency situation.

Parent Communication

We maintain open, real-time communication with families. You'll receive daily reports, and we will always call you promptly if anything requires your attention.

Licensing & Inspections

We are fully licensed by the state and subject to regular, unannounced inspections. Our license and most recent inspection report are always available for review upon request.

Health Policies

Keeping our community healthy protects every child and family. These policies are in place to prevent illness and respond quickly when it occurs.

Illness & Exclusion Policy

  • Children must be fever-free (under 100.4°F) for 24 hours without medication before returning
  • Vomiting or diarrhea requires 24-hour symptom-free period before return
  • Any child showing signs of illness upon arrival will be separated and parents contacted immediately
  • Contagious conditions (pink eye, strep, hand-foot-mouth) require a doctor's clearance to return
  • We notify all families promptly if a contagious illness is reported in the classroom

Medication Administration

  • We administer prescription medications only with a completed authorization form signed by a parent or guardian
  • All medications must be in original, labeled containers with the child's name
  • Over-the-counter medications require written parental consent and a doctor's note
  • Epinephrine auto-injectors (EpiPens) and other emergency medications are stored securely and accessible to trained staff at all times
  • All medication administration is logged with time, dose, and administering staff member

Allergy Awareness

  • All known allergies are documented during enrollment and reviewed with every staff member
  • Allergy action plans are posted in classrooms and the kitchen
  • We are a nut-aware facility — no peanut or tree nut products are permitted
  • Staff are trained to recognize allergic reactions and respond immediately
  • Emergency allergy medications are stored in a clearly labeled, accessible location in each classroom

Immunization Requirements

  • All enrolled children must be current on state-required immunizations
  • Up-to-date immunization records must be submitted before the first day of attendance
  • Medical exemptions are accepted with documentation from a licensed physician
  • Records are reviewed annually and updated as children receive new vaccinations
  • We follow all state and local health department guidelines regarding immunization requirements

Daily Hygiene & Cleanliness

A clean environment is a healthy environment. These are the everyday practices that keep our space safe and germ-free.

Handwashing

  • Children wash hands upon arrival, before and after meals, after outdoor play, and after using the restroom
  • Staff wash hands before and after diapering, food handling, and any contact with bodily fluids
  • Proper handwashing technique is taught and reinforced as part of our daily routine

Sanitization

  • All toys, surfaces, and equipment are sanitized daily using child-safe, non-toxic cleaning products
  • High-touch surfaces (door handles, light switches, tables) are disinfected multiple times throughout the day
  • Diapering areas are sanitized after every use
  • Soft materials (blankets, stuffed animals) are laundered weekly or immediately if soiled

Nutrition & Food Safety

  • All meals and snacks are prepared following state food safety guidelines
  • We accommodate documented dietary restrictions and allergies
  • Food is stored, handled, and served at safe temperatures at all times
  • Children's individual feeding schedules (for infants) are followed precisely and documented
